About the YELLOH Foundation
The Yelloh Foundation exists to provide hope and opportunity to orphaned children in Tanzania, Africa. We believe by providing a residential facility to care for children’s physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs, we can build a solid framework for growth and development that prepares children to become successful adults. Our vision is to change children’s lives, one child at a time, equipping them with the tools to lead successful and independent lives.
BECAUSE IT MATTERS
Naomi Albert Ndesa, the Director of Holley Children Orphanage (HCO), along with her supervisor Jenipha Lucas Laizer, supervise and participate in the daily routines and activities. Together they empower orphans and vulnerable children. By providing housing, educational opportunities and teaching the children how to create sustainable development projects, they are developing life- long skills to apply to their lives when they become adults.
Meet Happy, Alvin, and Clinton; they are hard at work with their studies. Due to Covid, schools were closed from September 27, 2020 through June 29, 2020. During the three months they were off, HCO staff home- schooled the children. Because of the staff’s diligence and commitment, when the children returned to school, they remained at appropriate grade level.
On September 27, 2020, ground was broken for the new site of the orphanage. Construction was completed on December 20, 2020 and boasted six rooms and three restrooms.
Since 2019, 49er Communications has been the sole supporter of HCO. Currently, HCO has banana trees and a garden, where they grow maize, pumpkin and more. They have recently started drilling a hand- made well to increase the water supply, allowing them to increase the size of their garden.
A Helping Hand
Ten chickens and counting! Holley Children Orphanage is striving daily to develop sustainable projects. The projects teach life skills as well as help offset daily living expenses.
